Recommended Cold Remedies
I have a terrible cold. Any recommended cold remedies?
I am a wife and a mother of two. I am an educational administrator. I write about education, books, food, movies and other things. This is "Just Caths", my blog.
I finally succumbed to the temptation! I had read about the Twilight saga from the In Print newsletter last December and their review piqued my curiosity. However, my busy schedule didn't allow me the luxury of reading for pleasure.
I just received a phonecall through my cellphone (Caller number: 7953889) supposedly from a Citibank representative asking to verify information about my card. I am very very careful with my financial information and even if it is rude, I immediately told the caller that I am not answering any of his questions and that Citibank can verify whatever information they need in another form. I heard so many stories of identity theft and it is really scary out there.
I am not a big U2 fan. I know some of their more popular hits like 'With or Without You', 'Pride (In the Name of Love)' and 'One'. I am not the type of person who would watch a rock concert but when I saw U2 3D, I really got into the show. The technology is just so awesome that you get up close and personal with the band. You can actually feel the energy of the crowd and feel the passion of the performers. Bono, The Edge, Adam and Larry performed with such expertise and passion, you can really feel their energy. Wanna get an idea of how up close you'll get? Well, you will be so close as to see the tissue box beside Larry and water bottles for The Edge. You can even see the perspiration of Bono. U2 3D made a convert out of me. I can now see myself watching a rock concert. This show is a genius expression of music and movie artistry. In the Philippines, it is showing on SM Mall of Asia IMAX Theater and the 3D Theater in SM The Block.
There are books that are considered classics. Books like Little Women, Pride and Prejudice, Oliver Twist, etc. I recently read a science fiction book written in 1960 which many consider a modern classic. The book is Daniel Keyes' Flowers for Algernon. It's been a long time since a book had such a personal impact on me. I'd say that Flowers for Algernon must be required reading for all psychology students.
